Oh, how I wish they could stay this size forever!

Something to note about newborn photos: they work best within the first two weeks of birth. If, like myself, you find that you are unable to stage formal photos until 12 weeks, you'll have an interesting time getting a) baby to sleep b)baby to pose. However, if you are persistent, the results can be breathtaking:

We squeezed this session in right before Christmas - I thought it was such a great gift idea! I have to comment on the mom's gorgeous skin - I hardly had to edit these photos at all, she is flawless! Merry Christmas, I hope your family enjoyed these, I know I did.

I had a blast trying out a new camera on this couple! Centennial Park is a place I have been dying to go, so I am thankful they were willing to go with me. I think we got some great shots. These two will be getting married in North Carolina on Dec. 26 - congratulations, and best of luck you two! Thanks for letting me be a part of it.

A few weeks ago, I went out to Murray Park with the Mantas family. They haven't had new family photos in many years, so they really deserved these! We tried to recreate the ancient photo they have hanging up, just for fun so they could see how different their family is now. Aren't they wonderful? Thanks, Mantas family, it was fabulous to meet you!

This couple is getting married soon. Her little boy was a shy around me at first. Wouldn't you know it, as soon as I put the camera away he wanted to show me his crazy dance! Typical.

Fyfe Family

I took pictures of the Fyfe family this weekend. It was FREEZING cold the morning we went, but the overcast day made for some great shots. All things considered, the kids were pretty good sports, although I could not resist taking a few shots of their grumpy little faces. I haven't gotten through them all yet, but here are a few favorites.

My niece, Stella, is my favorite subject. It's hard to help it when you're related to such a cute toddler who also happens to be a ham! I always have a lot of fun getting shots of her on family trips. These are a few shots from the 24th of July, along with her blessing, which was about 2 years ago now. I LOVE shooting kids!

My sister had been wanting to get some family photos taken for awhile. Our last family photo was at her wedding, which means Landon and Stella aren't in it! Our family was all together at her home for my niece, Stella's birthday, and she asked me if I would do the photos. I haven't done a lot of timer photography, but I was pleased with the results.

Includes one hour photo session, online proofing, and a CD with 10 retouched digital images of your choice.

Scheduling

We are based in the Salt Lake Valley area.* The majority of sessions will be scheduled on Saturday evenings, from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. depending on the season and the weather. Please send a message to secondstarphotography@gmail.com if you are interested in scheduling a session. Provide your name, the type of session you are interested in (family, children, engagement, etc.) and your phone number, and we will get back to you as quickly as possible.

*A limited number of sessions are also available in the Eastern Idaho area. Contact us for more details.
